I know, I know. Loving everyone is hard! Sometimes it just seems completely IMPOSSIBLE. But remember:
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Why should we love everyone? Well why NOT? We should desire to become more Christ like, that's what true Christians desire right? And Jesus loves everyone, even the most horrible person we could imagine - right? Let's read some scripture:
Luke 6:27
"But I say to you who hear, 'Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,.."
Romans 12:19-21
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Luke 6:27-36
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Matthew 5:46
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil
As we can see there are man scriptures related to loving everyone. I could not copy down all scriptures related to this topic, for that would be A LOT OF VERSES. I hope that we can all see that loving everyone is a COMMANDMENT from God, not a suggestion. For if we desired to love others and encourage or uplift them, instead of tearing them down, gossiping about them, or being unkind, we could show our light and we would have a much less drama filled life. Cutting down on our own drama creating will cut it in half altogether.
So love your enemies, love your friends, and most of all do it without a grudging heart or it isn't true love.
Happy 2015,
Megan
